Hi Chris; Are you new to motorcycles or just new to the Savage? Either way,welcome to the club. I think you will find the LS650 a good bike for middle speed and relatively short runs. I run mine on the freeways sometimes at 70-75, but it's not much fun because the Savage is just a little light for that and the traffic is too heavy these days, you have to concentrate all the time just to keep from getting killed. My bike is really good for country riding at 40-50 mph, and I installed an AirVent cushion which gives me a little extra distance before numbuttitis sets in and I often will go for 70 to 100 mile runs round trip.
I live in Pa. and so have a lot of winding country roads and lots of hills. If you are looking for low speed easy riding you picked the right bike, yet it will run right in with the big boys if you want to do it. Frank M
